PROJECT 4B

PROJECT 4B -- THE BLUEPRINT
Oh ya, really difficult to draw out the exact measurements but yet i did it...

Being taught by my studio master that there are two kinds of working process to build up a building:
1) Building model, then goes to blueprint
2) Blueprint goes first, then build model

I found out that i prefer the first method which is building sample first, then head for blueprint though will be quite tough to produce blueprint after designing and building. Think about the measurement for sure to ease further blueprinting.

Will be photos' speaking...

PROJECT 4A - Sculpture

Sculpture
Theme to be SUSTAINABLE
Sustainable Architecture?
From Wikkipedia, Sustainable architecture is a general term that describes environmentally conscious design techniques in the field of architecture. Sustainable architecture is framed by the larger discussion of sustainability and the pressing economic and political issues of our world. In the broad context, sustainable architecture seeks to minimize the negative environmental impact of buildings by enhancing efficiency and moderation in the use of materials, energy, and development space. Most simply, the idea of sustainability, or ecological design, is to ensure that our actions and decisions today do not inhibit the opportunities of future generations. This term can be used to describe an energy and ecologically conscious approach to the design of the built environment.

First Thought
First, i came out with the idea by using plastic bottles to reach the theme of sustainable as bottles can be recycled and reused as well. Not knowing that mounting board is the main medium, i planned to combine plenty of bottles to build up a sculpture. But then came to no avail because of bottles should be sub-medium.

Very first idea
Simple first draft
With further hesitation, i decided to insert the shape of bee hive which is hexagon and combine with the plastic bottles. Yeah, i choose hexagon just like the bee hive and i think that it consciously approaches to the design of the built environment. Implicitly bring out the simple idea of evolvement and expansion in term of sustainability.

Progress... The challenging moment
Cutting out the shape of hexagon
Stability test
Building up my sculpture
The final product of my sculpture, and i named it as B-STRUCTURE to bring out the combination meanings of Bottles and Bee. Yet, randomly arrange the shape and unevenly and non-uniformly building up B-STRUCTUREThis is probably what i am thinking --- RANDOM, though will be difficult for me to draw out in the next project.

Plan View of B-structure
Left side View of B-structure
Right side View of B-structure
Thinking that will be quite pretty in low light condition, here comes... Hopefully enjoyable!!!

Yeah, i did it and pretty satisfied with it. Building up an idea isn't that easy but also isn't that hard.   And i would like to share that if it's a good idea, put it on a good piece of paper and build it if possible. Cheers...

THE CUBE

PROJECT 3B: THE CUBE
Issued by last friday, 30 September. The very moment of it, thinking that perspective really do leave us sense of space in 3-Dimension. Now i just realised how the perspective drawing is invented and how. Copied from lecture that "Artists used mathematics and close observation to invent linear perspective. Linear perspective allows artists to trick the eye into seeing depth on a flat surface." and yet i found it really awesome.

Progress of PERSPECTIVE DRAWING

Why did i choose only one point perspective?
The only reason is i love one point perspective, not intending to use two points, ^^ Just want to show the 3D feel of my model using one point. Few models can be drawn, and yet i choose these three among those...
Using one point perspective

Colouring it with the usage of toning and shading as well to show the feel of 3D

PROJECT 3B done
Cheers... Learn 3D-ing a object. Recently, i noticed that really, these projects had already do me a favour in bring myself near to the pinnacle of beauty in art. And yet, should be improving in the coming project. Yeah, "PINNACLE", hoping that will reach it one day...

BLACK BOX

PROJECT OF BLACK BOX
Orthographic drawing, with the drawing of two dimension which can show the 3 dimension view of a object. Seriously, my very first time to use A1 size of CARTRIDGE and i found out A2 size of the CARTRDIGE is very small!

8 boxes-making progress...
After drafting the squares... Cut!!! And Shaping...
Try to imagaine building this paper into colour boxes. And i just made it.
Hardwork!!!
After shaping, i inserted newspapers into those boxes to improve the stability.

Eventually i completed this "TASK". Next will be Painting...

I just make every colours has their own uniquiness... By its own design...

Idea-generating part... Designing by combining 8 boxes in contacted...
Simple drafting... To sketch out my main idea...
Original A1 size CARTRIDGE... Constructed lining...

Hoo... The last part of my HARDWORK...
Initially i build them into two structures which totally different in design and concept. After that, i try to link the two structures together getting the feel and status of "ENGAGED". Here is the product BLACK BOX!

TIRED YET FUN... Crazy with the arrangement of the boxes, there are too many ways to build it. But i took it this way, not because of simple. It was actually what i want it to be having spaces between the boxes and making a huge "COMMUNICATION" between two structures... Yeah, i quite satisfy with my project... My apologize for these pictures, their bacground isn't that nice... ^^ Will be improving next time!

NATURAL STRUCTURE

PROJECT 2B - NATURAL STRUCTURE
Well, natural structure, i choose LOTUS among those flora. The reason is it's so beautiful in its colour and its petals are orderly arranged. The opening of petals definitely showing off its inner beauty. It's true that it is a "well-trained" flower which not being contaminated by the surroundings environment. Besides, giving me a sense of space between each and every of the petals as well as depth.
THE LOTUS
Deciding the patterns...
Opt for the top view of the LOTUS
Starting from the central...
Changing central pattern...
Drawing construction line for the first place...
Making it easier to draw out a much geometrical shape of it...
Done with a small sample... Prototype!

Here comes a big deal --- Working on the A3 size catridge paper
Central constructing... (after drawing the symmetry construction lines)
Using marker pen to redraw the outline...
Done...
Using three basic colours (RED, BLUE and YELLOW)

Yeah... It is done...
Cheers... I learnt to be more sensitive in all nature elements, it brings many implicit structures, definitely inspired by the beauty of nature... Erm, thinking that getting ideas from nature and convert into buildings' design, it would probably bringing out another era of buildings design...
